“Mentoring Others to Do the Same”
All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:18-20, NIV).
Jesus’ final words to His followers were a commission to make disciples. Making disciples is far more than just education, it is transformation! It’s a challenging thing to learn to obey everything that Jesus commanded, but that is precisely the task set before us. Transformational discipleship is best done one-on-one, in clusters and in small groups. Palmwood Church uses all three, but for most people the place to start is in a Life Group.
Life Groups are small family groups in a home that foster real life-on-life relationships for the Kingdom of God. They meet weekly, spend ample time in the Bible, build on a foundation of praying for each other, enjoy wonderful fellowship together and also serve together out in the community.
