The foundation of everything we are and everything we do is our love for God. If we don’t love God rightly, we won’t love anyone else well either. This extravagant love is our response to the quality of love he has already shown us. It is a genuine adoration that comes from the fullness of who we are: heart, soul, mind & strength (Matthew 22:37-40).

We love God because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). Likewise, we love those around us as an outgrowth of our love for God (1 John 4:20-21). Our love for others – and especially those with whom we worship – is modeled after the love of Jesus: authentic, humble and self-sacrificing. People are precious to us because they are precious to God.

God has always been concerned with passing on the Faith from generation to generation (Deuteronomy 6:1-9; Matthew 28:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:2; Titus 2:1-15). Jesus commissioned Christians down through the ages to “make disciples” – being spiritual mentors to the next generations so that they grow into men and women of Christ-likeness.
